In all photo PhotoPhOnics™® books letter sounds and word familes are color-coded to pop out the rest of the print. This provides children with easier letter sound recognition and helps them decode independently. The interesting photographs serve as “reading clues” to support comprehension and encourage a love of nature. The “Fun Facts” to explore section in the the book is intended to provide children with comprehension practice while presenting some interesting facts about the location visited. Children can be encouraged to ask questions to make connections to the photographes , text and facts . Each fact corresponds the photograph in the book and can be used to launch nonfiction research unit on that location and the environment. Additional instructional suggestions make these books perfect for shared reading at school or with parents at home. These are curriculum-based books providing quality coding practice which motivates students and rewards them with success!
